This is The Most Popular Viral Destination For Young Travelers on TikTok

Since the lifting of health restrictions, Dubai has collected billions of views on TikTok, making it the most popular holiday destination for young people. The capital of the United Arab Emirates is well-known for its futuristic buildings, all the resorts and beautiful Gulf beaches. The platform’s so-called Gen Z Travel Index is based on observations and measures the popularity of several international destinations. Researchers say that various attractions including the famous Burj Khalifa, which is now the tallest building in the world, and the Dubai Mall, a luxury shopping mall, are responsible for Dubai’s fame. As more buildings and resorts were built, tourism began to increase. Today, the entire country is a feast for the eyes, with world-class public infrastructure, driverless trains, indoor ski resorts and man-made islands like palm trees. A large restaurant with a roof reminiscent of the moon will also open soon.

Other cities in the Top 10

Dubai is a beautiful and touristic city, and the young people on TikTok seem to value these features. In addition to the audience, a second study was conducted to determine not only the possibility of going “viral”, but also the security level, how often these cities are searched on Google, their tourist destinations, etc. .

Dubai ranks third in this survey with 7.1 out of 10 points. It is more than London, which is considered as the best city break for Gen Z. Interestingly, London is only the third most visited destination with 42.7 billion views for double-decker buses, the company red phone with “Tube” icon.

Barcelona is the most popular destination in the Mediterranean, ranking second in both lists. TikTok videos shot in or about Spain’s second largest city have received 61.3 billion views so far.

Paris, the beautiful French capital, the fascinating canals of Amsterdam, the charm of Prague, Berlin with its Cold War past, the endless Rome and Milan, and the Thai gastronomic nirvana of Bangkok rounded out the top ten. Finally, the study found that social media influence the majority of TikTok users (90%) when planning a vacation.
