The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on Thursday that a natural earthquake has been recorded on the moon. It has been recorded by the Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA) payload. ISRO said that Vikram, the Chandrayaan-3 lander currently operating on the surface, has detected the onset of seismicity on the moon. Pragyan Rover and other payloads have also sent data regarding this and the incident is currently being investigated.
The first micro electro mechanical system technology based instrument on the Moon has recorded the activity of the rover. ISRO said the Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA) payload recorded an event that appears to be natural. This event, detected by the Vikram lander, indicates the possibility of an earthquake on the Moon, but its exact nature is still under investigation. ISRO said, “Additionally, it has recorded a natural phenomenon on August 26, 2023. The source of this incident is being investigated.”

Objectives of Chandrayaan-3 mission fulfilled
This happened after ISRO said that two or three Chandrayaan-3 missions were successful. The first two missions – to demonstrate a smooth and safe landing on the surface of the moon and to demonstrate the movement of the rover on the moon were successful. Although the third mission, which is a scientific experiment on the moon, is currently underway. This mission made India the fourth country to land on the surface of the moon and the first country to land on the unexplored southern side of the moon. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) said on Thursday that a child playing in the Chandamama garden took pictures of the Vikram lander’s moving camera in search of shelter. An image of the moon was shared. ISRO said in a post on a microblogging site, right?
