Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has launched a new DMRC travel app to help users book metro tickets online. This dedicated app will generate a QR code that needs to be scanned when you enter the port, after going through security. Online QR codes will help travelers avoid long lines to purchase physical signs. The new DMRC app also allows users to recharge their metro smartcards.
How to Buy Delhi Metro QR Ticket on DMRC Travel App
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation’s DMRC Travel App is available for download on Google Play for Android and iOS for iPhone. Users will need to create an account and log in to save tickets. On the first page, select the option “Book tickets” and enter the departure and arrival points. Once you’ve entered your start and end points, the app will display the price, metro line color and travel time from point A to point B. The app supports UPI, Card and Wallet as payment options.
Since this app is launched and maintained by DMRC, users can also find details of employees related to Delhi Metro. At the bottom, if users select the bell icon, the app shows the latest notifications related to various Delhi metros. It lets users know if there are any changes to a line, although updates aren’t always good. As mentioned, the DMRC travel app also allows users to recharge their smart cards.
The application redirects users to external links and the interface may be small. At the top right, users can enter their ID card and deposit money. To complete this process, users will need to provide a security code. Once the card is loaded, users will have to select the top option from the AVMs installed at all Delhi metro stations.
Benefits of DMRC Travel App
Until now, passengers could save and upload metro tokens, but that option is available through other apps. DMRC has just launched a new app to help users book and pay their tickets online. Currently, the future of the existing Delhi Metro Rail app remains unclear. The old app enabled users to check the Delhi Metro app and browse station-to-station travel times. Meanwhile, the DMRC has lifted the ban on carrying liquor bottles in trains. Passengers are now allowed to carry sealed bottles, although there may be problems if they travel from Delhi to Noida.
