A video recording a strange and disturbing event on an Indian railway platform has left the internet agog, depicting a male traveler transforming the washroom of a train into his own bedroom. With over 780,000 views on Instagram, the film has rekindled the national conversation about Indian Railways’ overcrowding and desperate fight for space.
The Temporary Cabin: “The Bathroom Turned Into a Bedroom”
Vishal, a content maker, recorded the strange scene of the man lounging happily in the tiny toilet cubicle. The traveler was seen holding a folded woven bed that he had propped from outside through the restroom window, creating a makeshift, isolated lodge with his belongings all around him.
Vishal can be heard incredulously stating in Hindi in the widely shared video, “Bhai ne bathroom ko bedroom bana diya” (Brother has changed the washroom into a bedroom). When asked if his possessions comprised his “whole house,” the man said sarcastically, “Yes.” “Train washroom bana diya bedroom” was the title of that video.
