The most expensive fragrance in the world, Shumukh, was introduced in Dubai and costs USD 1.3 million (about Rs 10.8 crore).

Shumukh was developed by Nabeel Perfumes creator and perfumer Asghar Adam Ali. It took over three years and 500 formulation tries to achieve the ideal aroma.

Inside a 1.97-meter-tall display structure that resembles a work of luxury art, the perfume is housed in a gorgeous 3-liter Murano glass bottle.

The structure is adorned with 3,571 diamonds, 2.5 kg of 18-karat gold and 5.9 kg of pure silver, along with pearls and Swiss topaz.

Shumukh, which translates to “worthy of the highest,” is adorned with symbols that symbolize Dubai, such as falcons, Arabian horses, roses, and tiny pearls.

Additionally, the building incorporates skyline-inspired features that blend Dubai’s historic legacy with its contemporary opulence.

The fragrance is unisex, built on Middle Eastern classics like agarwood, smoky frankincense, deep musk, warm sandalwood and amber.

Turkish rose and ylang-ylang are examples of floral layers that soften the base and produce an opulent, regional smell character.

Shumukh is the owner of two Guinness World Records: the tallest remote-controlled perfume spray and the most diamonds on a perfume container.

The imposing building has the ability to autonomously spray perfume, fusing elegance and technology in a way that is rarely seen.

The Middle East places a high cultural importance on perfume, and the UAE leads the region in ultra-premium innovations with a market of USD 6.1 billion in 2017.

Shumukh has now eclipsed previous records such as DKNY’s Million Dollar Bottle and Clive Christian’s Imperial Majesty.
