Saudi Arabia’s First Male Robot Harasses A Reporter on Live TV

Journalists play an important role in informing the public and holding individuals, including powerful corporations, to account. Violence against women, especially television presenters and journalists, is a troubling problem worldwide. Sometimes people are caught making fun of female journalists, even in front of the camera. Still, this kind of chaotic behavior from a robot is something no one expected. To the surprise of many, Saudi Arabia’s first humanoid robot, Android Muhammad, has sparked controversy for “harassing” women. This robot presented during the second edition of DeepFast in Riyadh sparked controversy on social networks for allegedly touching a journalist inappropriately during the presentation of the machine.

A second video of the same thing has been shared online, in which an AI robot stands next to a television journalist, Rawiya Al-Qasimi. What caught the attention of the viewers was the movement of the robot arm which looked like “horror”. Meanwhile, the discomfort of the reporter is also visible.

The footage caused an uproar online, with many citing the length of time it took. However, most people stopped arguing because they thought that the robot had “punished” the woman. The footage was posted on social media platforms.

The clip was posted on the social media platform X (Formerly Twitter) by the handle ‘TansuYegen’ on March 5, 2024. The share was captioned, “Saudi Robots were announced today.”

Take a look at the viral video below:

The news took social media by storm, leaving viewers stunned. Soon, Internet users took to the comment section and filled it with a variety of reactions. Many have found movements of “natural” from the Robot “where others ask the permits that make the robot in this way. There are some people who think it’s is a lie and consider it “always” threats “. To the moment, more than the viewers in 189,000, and no heart Two, the number are still increasing.

“That’s the natural movement of his hands, but she was pretty close to him, so that’s why she was touched,” a user commented.

Adding a tweak of humour, an individual quipped, “What are these Saudi Robots capable of?”

“That is still harassment, on the part of whoever programs that robot or with whoever controls it,” another user wrote.

An X user posted, “Who programmed this robot?”
