How many times have you seen a sci-fi movie set in the future and marveled at a futuristic car soaring through the air? Well, self-driving cars in space may still be in the distant future; and know that the most futuristic car was revealed almost 6 years ago. Yuchen Cai, who was 23 years old at the time, made Renault cars. It seems that this concept car can only be sold in the future where the road is made with magnetic technology. Alternatively, a car known as The Float can be adjusted to follow a specially designed magnetic line. The machine features sliding doors, silver bucket seats and translucent glass exteriors and is seen in the video showing the amazing view. However, its lack of wheels makes it different from others; to move, it will use magnetic levitation or Maglev technology.
Additional passenger glass modules can be attached to the magnetic strip around the exterior, allowing more passengers to travel with the vehicle. How this can be done can be seen in this car video uploaded by the YouTube channel called The Wheel Network.
The ship will be non-directional, allowing it to move in any direction without returning. Thanks to the magnetic strip that surrounds its exterior, each module can be connected to other modules and move with them. In addition, some can be rented through the app, as taxis will be. Yuchen Cai designed the Float to use connected technology, self-driving and electric power. His car won first place in an autonomous driving competition organized by French carmaker Renault. The Float is still a few years away from seeing the light of day, as no country has the magnetic road technology necessary to make the car work. It remains to be seen how long it will take for the Float to hit the road.
