Social media is full of cute antics with small animals. There is no doubt that these short videos quickly grab the attention of internet users. From videos showing cute elephant activities in the wild to a four-legged companion accompanying a pet parent to the hospital, these videos are getting a lot of attention from people people. Now, the recent encounter between a monkey and a devotee at Sri Rangnath Ji Mandir in Vrindavan is gaining attention. On January 6, visitors to Sri Rangnath Ji Mandir were shocked when a pesky monkey stole a man’s iPhone.
Despite several attempts, the monkey showed no sign of wanting to retrieve the precious item. Finally, the monkey was given something to eat. A video of the incident was shared by Vikas on Instagram. As soon as the clip was released, it caught people’s attention and made many people laugh.

Once the animal grabs it, it immediately drops the iPhone.

The video has received over 8.4 million views so far. The share also has a lot of interest in the comments, with a few users finding the behavior of the monkey very important while others call it bad. Some even expressed similar thoughts and remembered that they had seen this too. Many others reacted to the clip with funny emojis and said that monkeys are smart and have new ideas about how to get food.
However, this is not the first incident, when monkeys encountered persons and stole their items. Another viral video showed how a monkey not only stole a woman’s phone but later demanded food from her in exchange for the device. The incident occurred in October 2023 in Bali, Indonesia.

Similarly, in August 2022, a monkey in Mathura was caught on camera stealing the glasses of DM Navneet Chahal. The officer was apparently on a field visit to Vrindavan and was surrounded by a group of 20 other officials. In October 2021, a monkey was seen sitting on the roof holding a dark glass while the owner of the glass had to run very fast to retrieve them.
