Man Orders iPhone 15 From Flipkart, Gets Bar of Soap Instead

In a shocking incident, a man recently fell victim to an iPhone 15 scam. He got a bar of soap instead of the expected phone during his Flipkart delivery. Shared on Instagram by a blogger named Vidur Sirohi, the video captured the perfect package being ripped apart during delivery. In Flipkart’s box delivery policy, especially on mobile, the delivery person can be seen unpacking the product before handing it over to the customer. When he opened the package, he found that the box contained soap instead of the high-end device he ordered. The victim, who was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new iPhone 15, met with disbelief and disappointment when he encountered the iPhone scam. The incident raises serious concerns about the safety and legitimacy of online purchases, especially high-end luxury items like the latest iPhone models.

In recording the video, Vidur Sirohi explained the complete story behind his order. Explaining the incident, he wrote: “I ordered an iPhone 15 on FLIPKART India on November 16, 2023. The expected delivery date was the next day, November 17, 2023, but the delivery did not happen. done within the specified time. Then the iPhone 15 should be delivered the next day, but I’m leaving the station, so I set the delivery date for November 22, 2023.”

“As I was leaving the railway station and returning home in the evening, I asked the delivery person to come in the evening. The courier denied that he did not come in the evening. Also, I rescheduled for the next date till November 25, 2023, FLIPKART did not deliver the phone, despite constant complaints to FLIPKART support. Finally, the day came, November 26, 2023, when I transferred it to FLIPKART India,” he added. Vidur Sirohi continued to write, “And guess WHAT? Such a scam – Instead of iPHONE 15 I got a soap that looks like a spear. Now I am not getting any help from FLIPKART INDIA. Their customer support has no solution and it’s costing me a lot of time and energy to ask for help on this issue. This means buying online from FLIPKART India is a big disappointment and a big failure.

As soon as the video appeared on the Internet, social media users flooded the comment section with many reactions. Many netizens expressed their anger over the online fraud while others shared similar stories and experiences. Responding to the post, one employee wrote: “I had a similar experience with a small car, their customer service was very polite and helpful. much but finally the problem was not solved.I had to keep the small broken car (Rs1600).

Another said: “Thank you for making a video of this otherwise they would have noticed you put soap on it.” Flipkart does not have any support for its customers.

A company spokesperson said, “I am a Flipkart seller and just want to inform everyone that Flipkart is cheating their sellers and customers. Just for your information, if a customer is returned or rejected the delivery. Flipkart will charge full penalty and duty from the seller. If the customer returns a used product or a different product, Flipkart will not be responsible for your loss, it will still charge the seller + penalty / compensation. And if Flipkart loses the product delivered to you, it is another loss for the seller.

“Sorry, but open box delivery is not like that, there will be outer packaging with shipping labels and stickers. Where is this? Where should the outer package of DE be opened? » said one Instagram user.

This video was shared two weeks ago on Instagram. Since its publication, it has received over a million views and over 48,000 likes.

This incident highlights the importance of caution when doing business online and the need for strong measures to combat fraud in the e-commerce sector. With online shopping on the rise, cases of fraud have increased, threatening the trust customers place in these platforms.

Experts recommend that consumers take precautions to protect themselves from this type of fraud. Investigating the credibility of the seller, reading customer reviews and choosing cash on delivery when available are some recommended practices to reduce the risk of fraud.
