The chicken biryani ordered by Zomato at Bawarchi Biryani, located at RTC Crossroads, came with an unexpected and unpleasant addition: a dead lizard. Yes, you read that right. The disturbing incident led to a poor treatment that became a cause for concern, with the discovery of a dead lizard and chicken biryani ordered online. The shocking scene, captured on video, has gone viral on the internet, leaving viewers in disbelief.
Said, Vishwa Aditya of DD Colony, Amberpet, posted a chicken biryani online on Zomato. However, when they received the package, they saw the ugly sight of a dead lizard in the middle of the rice.
The viral video shows a family holding a bowl full of rice, with nothing but a lifeless black lizard. Even the ‘Bawarchi’ pack has been recorded and shared in this image.

According to the Free Press Journal, the victim of the food scandal expressed his grievances at the restaurant, organizing a demonstration in front of the entrance with his family. Local media reports say the protest had a major impact on the restaurant’s business, as reports of the lizard and biryani issue spread.
Interestingly, this is not the first time the restaurant has faced such allegations. In May 2022, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials raided a Bawarchi restaurant following a complaint by a BJP worker who claimed to have found a lizard in biryani ordered from the establishment.
Ravi Chari, in charge of the Ramnagar division, visited the restaurant with friends, ordered biryani and said he found a lizard in the middle of the food. A local food safety officer inspected the restaurant and found some violations in response to his complaint.
