Perhaps you spilled some food or burned a loaf of bread while you were engrossed in an interesting show or movie. It is possible that you miss an important meeting with someone when you are looking at something interesting, but if it distracts you so much that you put things in your mouth that you shouldn’t do? Have you ever accidentally brushed your teeth with something other than toothpaste, maybe pain reliever gel? You might think it’s almost impossible to do something like that, but it actually happened to a woman named Mia Kittelson. It is reported that he suffered a serious accident due to his distraction of watching a Netflix movie featuring David Beckham.
In a viral video, she explained that she accidentally used a pain relief cream instead of toothpaste while brushing her teeth. This mix-up occurred as she mistakenly confused Deep Heat, a pain relief ointment, with her usual Colgate toothpaste, as she found them visually similar, reports The Daily Star.
The incident caused panic among Mia Kittelson’s boyfriend, who immediately contacted Poison Control, a helpline for poison ivy victims. The Daily Star reports that in another video he explained the situation, saying that his girlfriend had unknowingly used Deep Heat, a product close to Icy Hot, which bears a striking resemblance to Colgate’s toothpaste.
According to its website, Deep Heat claims its products are designed to provide targeted comfort, with heat to help strengthen muscles, with the benefits of a massage, and heat treatment. From the description, it is clear that the product is not something that people would want in their mouth. Mia Kittelson’s TikTok video documenting the accident has attracted more than 10 million views so far. In her speech, she talked about how she was distracted by their conversation about Beckham’s Netflix series, and jokingly called the incident “not her proudest moment.”
Social media users reacted with mixed reactions in the comment section of her post. One worker said: “Calling a poison control is embarrassing, but they’re very nice. Another person admitted with a smile: “Like I wouldn’t even think to call Poison Control and wait to know if I’m going to die or not,” reports the Daily Star.
Deep Heat is a common gel ointment. Mentholatum Company, founded in 1889 manufactures the popular product, for which consumers reportedly do not need a prescription.
