Cafe Goodluck is tucked away on Pune’s bustling Fergusson College Road, also known as FC Road. Among other breakfast and teatime treats, this exceptional Irani cafe has been serving comfortable bun maska and scalding hot mugs of Irani chai. For the first time in years, the 90-year-old restaurant is embroiled in controversy after a patron discovered a piece of glass in a bun maska, raising major hygienic concerns. FDA Suspends License Of Cafe Goodluck Over Hygiene Issues The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has temporarily suspended Cafe Goodluck’s license in Pune, according to a report published in The Economic Times. Due to hygienic concerns, an official told ET that they had taken the significant decision to close the well-known Irani cafe. A video of a Maharashtrian guy discovering a piece of glass in the cafe’s bun maska went popular online a few days ago. Aakash Jalagi, the client, used the internet to report the issue to the public health authorities. According to the ET report, FDA Joint Commissioner Suresh Annapure said that he discovered numerous unsanitary conditions at the restaurant during the inspection. Thus, pending further notice and required compliance, they have suspended Cafe Goodluck’s license.
