The brain sees what it wants to see. We still see numbers and faces where there really isn’t, thanks to our ancestors. They need this “superpower” to survive in a potentially hostile environment. Even though we no longer live in nature, we can still look for it, just be careful if someone wants to steal our cookies, for example.
