Cobra Spotted on Clothesline Inside Bedroom

Bhubaneswar: A startling incident has been reported from the Samantarpur area of Odisha’s capital, where a venomous snake was discovered inside a bedroom. The घटना took place on Sunday at the residence of local resident Gyan Ranjan Mahapatra, who lives in the Indira Housing Colony, causing panic among those present.
According to reports, the snake was approximately four feet long and appeared highly aggressive. The family was left terrified after spotting the venomous reptile perched on a clothes hanger inside the bedroom. Witnesses said that whenever anyone attempted to approach, the snake would raise its hood and hiss in a defensive posture.
Sensing the danger, the family promptly contacted the snake helpline. A rescue team soon arrived at the scene and assessed the situation. They were briefly taken aback to find the snake sitting on a hanger inside the room, with clothes still hanging alongside it, making the rescue operation more challenging.
The rescue operation was carried out successfully by the Snake Helpline team, who handled the situation with caution and expertise. Rescuers initially lowered the snake carefully along with the hanger. After a brief period, the snake detached itself, following which it was safely secured in a bag.
Upon completion of the rescue, the snake was released into a natural habitat outside the city. Officials ensured that the relocation was carried out in a way that posed no risk to residents while also supporting wildlife conservation efforts.
The incident highlights the growing instances of human-wildlife encounters in urban areas. Experts emphasize that in such situations, prompt and appropriate action, along with assistance from trained professionals, is essential to prevent harm.
