Record-breaking fireworks and a 6,500 drone show from Abu Dhabi to the UAE were used to mark New Year’s
2026.

(Image: X) From Abu Dhabi to Fujairah, the UAE celebrated New Year’s 2026 with a breathtaking spectacle of fireworks and light displays. Among the many events included in the New Year’s celebrations was a big drone show with 6,500 drones flying simultaneously for 20 minutes.
One of the biggest New Year’s Eve festivities in the nation took place in Abu Dhabi’s Al Wathba neighborhood. The Sheikh Zayed Festival’s Supreme Organizing Committee put together an amazing schedule that showcased the UAE’s pavilions, sponsors, and key partners. It included the world’s largest drone demonstrations, the longest and most spectacular fireworks displays, and a range of cultural events.
For more than an hour, the festival featured an unmatched fireworks display. On social media, a number of videos from the extravagant event are going viral, and many are in awe of the images.

Over 48 fireworks displays spread across 40 locations filled Dubai’s skyline. These displays were overseen by the Security Industry Regulatory Agency in cooperation with pertinent authorities. These exhibits made it possible for locals and tourists to take part in a range of festivities at the most famous tourist and entertainment sites in the emirate.
Along with a number of other well-
known locales, these featured prominent sites including the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Dubai Frame, Expo City Dubai, Global Village, Bluewaters, Al Seef, Dubai Festival City, Hatta, Atlantis The Palm, and Marsa Al Arab.
