Following the severe crisis caused by the airline’s flight cancellations in recent days, the government has ordered the company to reduce its operations by 10%. In order to stabilize its operations, the government mandated that IndiGo reduce its routes. A video of a “IndiGo” auto rickshaw has been circulating on social media amid the company’s issue.
The video, which content creator Shailendra Singh posted on Instagram, features him operating an autorickshaw that has been painted the same colors as the IndiGo aircraft. Furthermore, an AI-generated video depicts the vehicle with wings and a rudder.

One account wrote, “Ai ka sahi usage ho rha hai (AI is being used appropriately).” “Bhai Delhi Se Bhopal Le chalo (Take me from Delhi to Bhopal)” was another joke. One person joked, “Haryana Roadways are giving aviation businesses difficult competition.” Another comment said, “Bhai ye mars pe na chali jaye aaram se chalana (Just make sure it does not go to Mars, drive carefully).” It was referred to as the “best aircraft” by one. “Phir bhi indigo ke plane se jyada facilities h isme (It still has more facilities than an IndiGo jet)” remarked someone else in jest.

In just three days, the original video had almost 47,000 likes. Speaking about the reaction to the film, Shailendra Singh released a video showing how his Indigo auto rickshaw was able to “fly” thanks to the comments.

On December 9, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu met with IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers to review the airline’s handling of the cancelation situation. “The Ministry thinks it important to constrain the overall Indigo routes, which will help in stabilizing the airline’s operations and lead to less cancellations,” Naidu posted with a photo from the meeting. A 10% curtailment has been requested. Indigo will continue to cover all of its destinations while adhering to it.”
Additionally, it was declared that IndiGo had finished reimbursing all impacted flights through December 6. According to ANI, the news coincided with the cancellation of more than 400 IndiGo flights nationwide. The authorities are still keeping an eye on the situation and talking with IndiGo about the best ways to handle the cancellations and issue refunds.
