Delhi’s Chole Bhature Vending Machine Went Viral—Then the Shocking Truth Came Out

At first glance, the setup looks like a paradise for street-food lovers, especially in a city where chole bhature is enjoyed almost every day.

Getting chole bhature from a vending machine seems hard to believe, yet a recent video claims it’s now a reality in New Delhi. The clip shows a man standing before a machine that serves a steaming plate of the city’s favourite dish within seconds. After tapping a few buttons and waiting just a moment, he proudly displays a fresh, ready-to-eat plate—as if it had been made right then and there.

At first glance, the setup looks like a street-food lover’s dream, especially in a city where chole bhature is a daily favourite. But before anyone starts searching for this vending machine, there’s an important catch: the viral video isn’t real. Observant viewers noticed odd, unreadable text on the machine and several unnatural visual elements, indicating that the clip was generated using AI.
Man Receives a Fresh Plate of Chole Bhature Within Seconds
The Instagram video was shared with a humorous caption that read: “Dilli ki gali, shaky iPhone POV, aur saamne chole bhature ki vending machine. ‘Combo’ button dabaya, machine ne ‘brrrrr’ kiya, aur bhatura aankhon ke saamne phool gaya. Chole girte hi steam ne camera ko dhundla kar diya… piche se log bolte hue: ‘Oye dekh bhai!’ Delhi street chaos + asli taste = unbeatable. (A street in Delhi… a shaky iPhone camera… and right in front, a chole bhature vending machine. I pressed the ‘Combo’ button — the machine buzzed, the bhatura puffed up instantly, and as the chole dropped in, the steam fogged the camera. People behind me exclaimed, ‘Hey, look brother.’ The full chaos of Delhi’s streets combined with real flavour — unbeatable.)”

Viewers Respond With Shock and Laughter

Responding to the post, one user joked, “That’s impossible — within a few hours, the whole machine would vanish.”

Another commented, “The magic of AI.”

One viewer simply wrote, “Technologia.”

Someone else added, “AI is getting out of control.”

Another user, assuming the video was real, advised, “Since it’s a plate, it’ll get damaged. No one will return it. Use paper plates instead. If this machine were installed in Bihar, the entire machine would disappear.”

One user even joked, “Which vending machine serves food in metal thalis?”

Another remarked, “This is clearly AI.”

Delhi Man Actually Creates India’s First Chhole Kulche Vending Machine

While the chole bhature vending machine in the viral video may be fake, a Delhi resident has genuinely created India’s first real chole kulche vending machine. As reported by India Today, Sagar Malhotra—a former banker and Cambridge graduate—left his stable, decade-long career to follow his passion. Despite having a strong professional background, he felt driven to build something of his own, and his love for food inspired him to launch this innovative venture.

Instead of following the traditional cooking method, he created a specialised machine that lets customers choose their spice level—mild, medium, or extra—with just the press of a button. It took him an entire year to build the machine. In addition to adjustable spices, it also offers different bread options, including whole wheat and classic maida bhaturas. The most remarkable part is that the machine can serve a fresh plate of chole in just 60 seconds.
