Meet the Meghalaya farmer who consumes 10 kg of dried chillies in a single sitting without blinking or perspiring—a viral sensation | VIDEO

Meet Ram Pirtuh, the Meghalaya farmer known as the “Chilli Man,” who can consume 10 kg of spicy chillies for breakfast. This story is going viral.

An old video of local farmer named Ram Pirtuh ingesting an astounding amount of dried chillies has gone viral again, captivating social media all over the world and bringing weird and amazing tale of human perseverance from Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills back into the spotlight.

Ram, who works as farmer, credits his lifetime exposure to the spice with giving him immunity. “My existence revolves around chilli. do not sense any spiciness now that have been eating it since was kid,” he says.

An All-Chilli Diet

Every meal, from rice to veggies, is liberally spiced, according to Bataw village residents, who attest to Ram’s chilli-based diet. Ram literally has marathon of chilli eating every day:

  • Morning: He begins the day with a glass of “chilli tea.”
  • Afternoon: His lunch is usually chilli-mutton curry.
  • Evening: He eats a large amount of raw chillies.

According to him, “Chilli is my medicine—nothing seems to make me sick.” He views his habit as health remedy.

Claims Of ‘Chilli Soap’ Unverified

Ram’s exceptional talent has led to several harsh tests. According to news accounts, Ram seemed unaware during community demonstration while chilli paste was put to every part of his body, including his sensitive places

However, viral articles on social media have further emphasized this assertion, saying that Ram “even cleans his intimate areas with red chilli powder.” Although these stories are common and spectacular, the news media has noted that there is currently no verified proof to back up the claim that he uses chilli powder as cleaning agent.

Although the area is well-known for producing chillies, Ram Pirtuh is an exception, showing that the local chilli-rich area has undergone drastic environmental adaptation.
