After being bitten by a lethal black krait, Venkatesh killed the snake in a fit of rage and then passed out next to it. He is currently in critical condition in Tirupati Hospital.

Tirupati: A guy under the influence of alcohol is said to have bitten off the head of a poisonous snake after it was assaulted, in an act that surprised and appalled the residents of Andhra Pradesh’s Chiyyavaram village in Thottambedu mandal. Late Thursday night saw the strange incident, which has already spread throughout the area.
The man, identified as Venkatesh, was stung by a black krait, a very poisonous snake, when he was drunkenly making his way home. According to locals, he seized the reptile, bit off its head, and immediately killed it in a fit of wrath exacerbated by drink, rather than calling for aid right away. The deed is described as both horrifying and seemingly unreal by witnesses.
Venkatesh allegedly carried the dead snake home, put it next to his bed, and fell asleep, which only served to increase the shock. “What we witnessed was unbelievable. According to a neighbor who wished to remain anonymous, “it was as if he did not even realize the danger from the venom that had already entered his body.”
By early Friday morning, Venkatesh’s condition deteriorated rapidly due to the snake’s venom spreading through his system. His family immediately rushed him to the government area hospital in Srikalahasti. There, he received first aid before being transferred to SVRR Government General Hospital in Tirupati for advanced treatment.
He is currently undergoing intensive treatment and is in a serious state, according to the SVRR doctors.
According to medical professionals, the black krait is a very hazardous animal, and if its venom is not treated right away, it can be fatal. Alcohol probably hindered his response to the bite and affected his judgment. Although it may have been intuitive, biting the snake did not remove the venom that was already in his system, according to an SVRR physician.
The local community is shaken by the incident. Residents called the news “horrifying” and “unbelievable” when they woke up. Many people are wondering how a risky conduct like this could have gone unnoticed until the next morning. A neighbor remarked, “It serves as a reminder of how erratic snakes can be and how drinking can result in careless actions.”
Authorities have advised residents to stay alert, particularly at night, and to get medical help right once if they are bitten by a snake rather than trying to defend themselves. A warning statement about the risks of handling venomous snakes has also been released by the Tirupati Forest Department.
The dead snake has turned into a spooky representation of the strange happenings of the night, while Venkatesh is still in critical condition and his future is uncertain. Debates concerning alcohol, instinct, and human interactions with wildlife are being sparked by the story, which is quickly going viral on social media and drawing interest from far beyond Chiyyavaram.
