Delhi Metro Services To Begin Early On Independence Day
A Hindustan Times story states that DMRC will begin metro service at 4 AM on August 15. From 4 to 6 AM, it will run in 30-minute increments before going back to its usual timetable. “To facilitate the special guests, invitees, and general public to attend the Independence Day ceremony on Friday, 15th August 2025, the Delhi Metro will commence its services at 04:00 AM on all its Lines from all terminal stations,” DMRC wrote on its X account as part of the official announcement.
People who have received an official invitation from the Ministry of Defence would receive “unique QR tickets” for transportation to and from the event, DMRC added in the X post. Lal Quila, Delhi Gate, and Jama Masjid are the nearest metro stations for the Independence Day celebration. “The Ministry of Defence will reimburse DMRC for the expense of such travel,” the post stated.
Metro Line For Event At Red Fort
You can take the metro to the Red Fort if you intend to attend the Independence Day commemoration event there. According to Hindustan Times, you can take the metro from the closest metro station to Lal Quila to get to the Red Fort. The station is located on the Delhi Metro’s Violet Line. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has already begun to perform thorough security inspections at metro stations in order to guarantee safety.
Make sure you have enough time if you plan to attend the event. Station security inspections may take a while.
